Richard Jeffries

Client Intake Attorney

RJ is originally from Minnesota and North Dakota. He graduated first in his law class and practiced law in Fargo, North Dakota and Moorhead, Minnesota, for thirty-seven years. For the last twenty-two years, he had his own insurance defense firm representing major national insurance carriers in all types of cases.

He retired a few years ago, but as he says, he “flunked” retirement. He taught torts and personal injury in a paralegal program at Minnesota State University, which led to his writing a national paralegal textbook on the subject published by Pearson Education.

He is an adjunct professor of law at Arizona Summit Law School, having taught Professional Responsibility and Introduction to Civil Litigation. He missed the waive-in period for Bar admission in Arizona, so he took the Arizona Bar exam in 2013, passed it, and was admitted to practice in Arizona in October 2013.

His small family substitutes for his lack of personal hobbies. Linda, his wife of over 50 years is a real estate agent. Both RJ and Linda are only children. They have two children and three grandchildren.
