Getting around town in a wheelchair has its challenges, as our client Ron knows well. He has been comfortable with the public transit system as a weekly rider for his grocery run and was on the way to do his shopping when the bus driver sped up at the yellow light to make his right-hand turn.
Ron was unable to keep his wheelchair upright during the sharp turn, and when the chair tipped over, he toppled to the ground and suffered a fractured hip and broken ribs.
However, this was no slam-dunk case. There were challenges on the liability side due to the bus driver’s claim that our client refused to be strapped in for the ride. Communication with Ron was complicated because he lives alone and is severely hard of hearing. We went to great lengths to communicate with him through his friends and neighbors, who were our extended team members during this case and showed great patience along with his legal team.
We did work through the challenges and after achieving significant reductions and finally paying out his medical bills, we were able to deliver a six-figure settlement for Ron that has certainly changed his life for the better.
“I don’t think I could have asked for a more seamless and incredible experience than what I got with The Husband & Wife Law Team. The incredible journey began from the first phone call to all the excellent customer service in between and the kind demeanor expressed from that point forward. If I ever have to go through a law team again, there is no doubt that this would be my first call and only place EVER.” – Ron
